Awesome location exactly in the center square of Amalfi, lovely staff, everything was great. The room was ideal, with an excellent view of the sea. The bathroom was clean with a shower, hair dryers and a bidet. I greatly enjoyed to be in this place.

The location is unbeatable, right by the main piazza with fine views. Noise from nearby activities made sleep difficult.

Near the sea, transport, historical places.
Little bit noisy, if you close all the windows, you can sleep.

Having a room with the view of the sea was without doubt the highlight of our 5 weeks in Italy. The breakfasts were great though we did tend to eat too much of the chocolate cake. Staff very, very friendly and helpful and a delight to chat with. In short, not sure why anybody would stay anywhere else in Amalfi really.
Just being picky, but the hotel still charges for internet use even though most hotels seem to be phasing out this practice. Other than that, can't think of a single negative.

The Junior Suite offers a little balcony with a sea view, perfect for soaking in that Amalfi vibe. The soundproofing is surprisingly good, blocking out street noise once the balcony door is closed.
They feel tired and dated, with a few broken drawer handles. The shower head leaves much to be desired, with water spilling everywhere. The breakfast selection is limited, lacking variety and replenishment, and the dining area is cramped with a poor layout next to the lobby. The Wi-Fi is inconsistent, and charging devices can be a hassle due to non-universal wall sockets.

it is nice to upgrade my room with two terrace with sea view (though as there is no much to see, as low level in Amalfi city.). The location is very convenience if you, like me, have to catch up bus for every day trip. A nice lady says good English, and provides enough information, such as bus stops and booking restaurant on my request. Breakfast is fine with some local desert and meat which is not common in Italy.
A old man receptionist is not professional. Poor English. And the worst is that I have asked him to phone the restaurant to pick up us at hotel. He phoned the number which I provided and said no one picked up. I confirmed him that this is the exactly number the lady receptionist helped us to book a table at noon time. He doesn't believe in me. And took a telephone number to check the number, thus confirmed me my number is correct. Still no one asked, he told me. I have no choice but to use my cell phone to call. You know what some one just picked up the phone right after the phone ringing. He finally used my cell phone to ask them to pick up us. It is not a big deal for me to pay international phone cost, but it is obviously the lousy old guy phone the wrong number and made this stupid mistook. Luckily I have just seen him once in my two nights stay.

The view from my Junior Suite was amazing, overlooking the fine Amalfi Square. The location was ideal for exploring local attractions, with numerous dining and shopping options just steps away. The staff were helpful.
Some noise from the street.

Hotel Fontana was great. Great location and comfortable room. The staff were very helpful and didn't hesitate or charge to print out our flight bookings. After traveling through Europe for 5 weeks this was a lovely way to end our European experience. Great place and very central!!!!!

After getting a bus from Rome to Amalfi, it was great to get off the bus and immediately see the sign 'Hotel Fontana". The staff was helpful and friendly, the room overlooked the Cathedral and the square, so it was interesting to observe people from our window.. The breakfast was good, with a variety of offerings, except NO fruit at all. Reception offered to mind our luggage on the last day until we departed.
We were a bit disappointed to not be facing the sea, but the Cathedral view was good. The TV was a small 14 inch one, with no channels except Italian. We don't normally watch much TV in hotels, but we were trying to get French Open results.
